Date March 11, 2008

This is just a quick administrative note to say that we’ve updated our list of 0% balance transfer offers. If you’re in the market for balance transfer credit card, be sure to check it out — there are over 40 great offers.

I should also note that the Carnival of Personal Finance has been published over at Four Pillars. This week’s edition included “How to Place a Fraud Alert on Your Credit Record.” Also included was “Twelve Tips for Preparing Your House for Sale” from over at our sister site, FiveCentNickel.

May I make a request? Is it possible for you to include American Express cards in your list of balance transfers? I’m curious as to what they’re offering.

Thank you so much for your help/blog!

Sure, I can put together a list, though it might take me a few days. The reason that they’re not included on the current list is that they don’t have any 0% offerings (though do do have some low rate offerings without a transfer fee). Thanks for the suggestion.

To help you with this list, there are other online finance forums that can add to your list and even provide more info on each card such as rates, rates after, fees. There’s a credit card forum and a finance forum out there.

Your updated list doesn’t mention the balance transfer fees for the Discover cards. For a moment, I thought they were fee-free (since your intro says you’ll mention the fees “if applicable”), but a quick click-through to their website shows the usual 3% balance transfer fee.

Just a heads up to update the list. :)
