How to Score a Free Credit Score

Written by admin - Leave a Comment

According to industry experts, an estimated 45 to 60 percent of Americans don’t have any insight into such an important number: credit score. Consumers are entitled to receive a free credit report each year, but that free credit report does not include your FICO credit score, which is assumed.

However, due to recent regulation passed this July you can obtain your credit score for free if you are rejected for a loan or refused the best credit card rates. If rejected for credit, you can request the actual FICO score that lenders are seeing when they check your credit. An additional option to receive a free credit report, complete with their FICO score is with mortgage lenders. Whether an application is rejected or approved, the majority of mortgage lenders will furnish their clients with a copy of their credit score at no charge.
