Ehow.com reports that out of all the debt owed by American consumers, perhaps the most toxic is credit card debt. So, in general credit cards don’t reduce debt. What’s good to know though is that there are exceptions, such as debt consolidation from transferring balances from high-interest cards to lower-interest cards.
Excessive credit card use seems to be culprit of why many are in debt in the first place because it builds up quickly. To eliminate debt it’s a good idea to develop a budget and pay off as much as possible, one account at a time.
